All in all, fans are getting a hefty bundle which essentially collects all the games needed to experience the Kingdom Hearts lore in its entirety.
Kingdom Hearts began as a PlayStation-centric series and has since appeared on a variety of platforms from Nintendo 3DS to Xbox. This marks the series’ first jump to PC, which fans have been eagerly clamoring for given that a glut of Square Enix's other titles are already available on PC platforms, most via Steam. Kingdom Hearts’ narrative is notoriously a bit convoluted and granular, but overall follows a young man named Sora, who bands together with Disney characters like Donald and Goofy in a battle that pits light against darkness. Along the way, the trio interact with a wide variety of Square Enix and Disney characters, like Aerith (Final Fantasy VII), Squall (Final Fantasy VIII), Ariel (The Little Mermaid), Rapunzel (Tangled) and many more. There are matching Disney-centric worlds to explore, ships to build and special abilities to earn as well.
Each set of games is set to hit the Epic Games Store on March 30. Kingdom Hearts 1.5 + 2.5 Remix, enhanced versions of Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2, will cost $49.99. The other three installments will be available at $59.99. There doesn't appear to be a way to buy a collection as there is on other platforms, but that could change in the future.
